Back-end Products – 7 Ways To Sell Back-end Products
Today we are going to talk about back-end products. These are things that some entrepreneurs usually take for granted. So, first of all let us define what back-end products are. The simplest possible definition I can think of when back-end products are mentioned would be: product or products that you attempt to sell to your customers after they have recently purchased a related item from your business.
Selling back-end products is a tried and tested strategy that is truly effective when it comes to boosting online profits. According to statistics, 30% of your existing customers will most likely purchase from you again. Why? Because they had a wonderful experience shopping at your site, the product that they got from you served its purpose and most importantly you are a credible entrepreneur.
We all know how important it is to have a steady flow of customers, this is how business is done, however it is also important to keep up with existing and old customers and always be looking to lead them to make another purchase. As what I have said earlier shopping experience is one way to keep customers coming back for more this is wherein back-end products enter.
Remember that the back-end products are at all times related to the main product your existing customers purchased. For example your business sells cosmetics. A customer bought eyeliner, so you might want to offer this particular customer some mascara or curl lash. As you can see the products that I have mentioned are closely related to one another.
So does selling back-end product important? And is it easy to do? The answers are, “Yes it is important that you sell back-end products and it is easy to do since your customer has already purchased a product from you, it is safe to say that he/she is genuinely interested in your line of products.”
Selling to an existing customer is much easier rather than pitching to new people. The success of this marketing strategy lies on how you execute it. Here are some tips on how you can sell your back-end products to your existing customers:
1. Make sure that your back-end products are of good quality.
Make sure that you maintain the quality of your products. The reason why your customers bought a product from you in the first place was because they believe in the quality or effectiveness of the product you are selling. Always make sure that the back-end products you are about to offer your existing customers are of the same quality as the one they have already purchased. It is not good for business if you sell defective products.
2. Tell your customers about the back-end product by giving out flyers.
Say for example someone purchased something from you it would be good for business if you include an extra brochure in the package of the product/s your customer got. Included in the same brochure are other products that are sold by your company and include the benefits they could receive from that product.
Make sure that the flyer you are giving out is bright and colorful so that it is not thrown straight in the bin. The more attractive your flyers are the bigger the chances your customers will go through them and read it.
3. Selling back-end products can be done by sending customers some newsletters.
Provide a free newsletter subscription for customers. You might think that sending newsletters are like a waste of resources but that is not true. You can reap a lot of rewards from sending out a newsletter. Not only will it let you get closer to your customers but it also is a great way to let people know about your bank-end products.
4. Give customers a free eBook during their first purchase.
There are many entrepreneurs who give away freebies when people purchase something from them and an effective gift is eBook. Why? Because eBooks are very cheap to produce and are very easy to distribute. Attach an ad for your back-end product to the free gift. Your customer will be in a positive frame of mind due to the free gift they just got so it is most likely they will browse through your advertisements.
5. Offer your back-end products in your “thank you page”
Do not overlook your websites “thank you page.” This is one tool that you can use to promote several back-end products you have. Congratulate your customers on their recent purchase which will of course make them feel good. People like being told that they have made a good choice. If they are made to feel this way they might be convinced to purchase another product.
6. You can start an e-zine to sell your back-end products.
Let anyone who has purchased from you sign-up for a free e-zine. Not only can you offer your customers valuable content but you can promote your back-end product in every issue. This way, customers will see your back-end products whenever they get a new issue of your e-zine.
7. Treat customers to a card (holiday or birthday) that includes your advertisement.
A great way to bring a customer to make another sale is by sending them a card on their birthday or on holidays. On this card you can place a small advertisement inside. I assure you that your customers will be touched by your gesture.
