If you have been following this blog for the past couple of months, you might have read my article on Niche Marketing entitled Profitable Niche: 7 Tips to Find and Market a Profitable Niche. In that article I clearly defined what niche marketing is and how you can find a profitable market. Now for today, I will go ahead and discuss the advantages of niche marketing.
For those who have not read nor have an idea about what niche marketing is, it is totally different from mass marketing, which is the type of marketing we are all familiar with. Niche marketing only focuses on a specified, targeted group of people who have a built-in interest, need and desire for your product.
While on the other hand mass marketing seeks to market products to a lot of people, actually the more the merrier for mass marketing. With mass marketing, there is little attention as far as demographics are concerned, because the products are offered to customers who come from various backgrounds, they earn different incomes, etc.
You might think that gaining an advantage with niche marketing is impossible since you are focused on a specific group of people. You feel that if there are more prospects who get to see your offer, the more chances you have of closing a sale. Well in a way that is true however you have to consider the time and the cost of such a huge campaign. Here are some of the clear advantages of niche marketing.
Advantages of Niche Marketing #1: You are able to pay more attention on your prospects
One of the advantages of niche marketing is that you are able to exert your energy on reaching out to the right people. This people are the right one because they can afford your product or service, they are naturally interested in your offer, and they already have a need that you and your product can fulfill.
You are not going to waste time, money and of course effort on peoples who do not have an interest in your offer and most likely will never commit at this point.

Another advantage of niche marketing is that it lets you cut down on your advertising budget hence you save money. Each time you advertise to an audience who have nil concern and need for your products, you are losing money.
The economic situation of various countries is at its worst, so money is really tight. Often times, or should I say most of the time it is difficult to recover from a lost most especially if is money. Niche marketing allows you to preserve your money which you can invest on more important things.

Gaining profits is the main reason why people start a business. As an entrepreneur you want to gain huge profit margins while satisfying the needs of people in your market. When you make use of niche marketing, not only will you save money you should also increase your sales ratio which is difficult to achieve with mass marketing.
Your business would come to a point wherein it will have a wide array of products to sell. When this happens you are left with no choice but to employ more people and make sure that each product targets a specific well defined niche.
If your product is situated in the right niche, the phrase “the product sells itself” becomes true. When that happens, you will make considerable profits while working less.

Another advantage of niche marketing is that it lets you come up with your own unique product. Your unique product is what the customer needs and this is something that is not available elsewhere.

Product features and benefits must have an exceptional appeal to your target market (market niche). You should be able to provide your prospects with a tailor made product that will satisfy the unique requirements of your customers. A good starting point is to consider all possible product/ service variations that you can offer.

The next advantage of niche marketing is that it establishes your company name. How? If you build your own unique product, something that people will not find elsewhere then your company becomes the leader for that product hence it establishes your name.
You find yourself serving the needs of a specific group of customers, all of whom see you as the go-to guy in your niche, and all of whom like your products and have no problem buying more of your products and they would even suggest you to other people.
Advantages of Niche Marketing #7: Less competition
Another one of the advantages of niche marketing is that competition is significantly less. If you do niche marketing earning profits is a lot easier and not to mention you have a good chance of ranking higher in search engines.
