A Bad Website
What usually happens when you encounter a website that is messy, confusing and hard to navigate? Whenever you arrive at a bad website you close it or you actually navigate away from it even if the site offers the stuff you are looking for. Those things I have mentioned are characteristics of a bad website. A bad website is of course not good for an online business.
A bad website can do a lot of damage to a business. A bad website gives your business a negative image and it drives your customers away. Of course if you lose prospects then sales will go down. So how can you avoid developing a bad website? Here are some things we have to look into:
1. A bad website is a poorly designed website. If you already have a website look at it closely: Is your website appealing to potential customers? Sometimes in our attempt to make the website all pretty we use various colors, and put graphics that are irrelevant. Because of this the website ends up looking cluttered and unattractive hence a bad website.
A website that is used for business should look clean and professional. Get rid of those blinking things and icons that are too glittery because they are just a distraction. A bad website also uses colors that are “loud” and the font size is not uniform. Always remember that your website is there to attract prospects so the colors that you should use must be pleasing to the eye. The fonts that you should use must be readable and clear to the visitor.
2. A bad website has a confusing navigation bar. Your navigation bar serves as the map to the various areas of your website. So what happens if your navigation bar is confusing? You end up with a lost and frustrated customer. Do not frustrate your customer. Make sure that every link is working properly and that it is directing people to the right pages of your website.
A bad website also has a complicated navigation bar. Again, the navigation bar is a map so if it is complicated then I am sure people will just navigate away from your website. Why? They will not spend their precious time trying to figure out how the navigation bar works.
3. A bad website lacks information. In an online business it is crucial that you provide customers with pertinent information about the product or service that you offer. A bad website does not have the necessary information that prospects need.
Providing customers with honest information about the product or service that you sell will help them understand more about your business. Not only will they understand your business but it would also serve as a deciding factor whether they need your product or not.
